1분 30초 이하로 짧아지면 fluency 평가에서 불리해질 수 있기 때문에,
1분 45초~2분 정도를 안정적으로 채우는 것이 가장 좋습니다.

IELTS Part 2 큐카드의 보통 구조:

Describe a place you have visited that impressed you.

You should say:
where it is
when you went there
what you did there

and explain why it impressed you.
4개 bullet을 각각 20~30초씩 말하면 자동으로 2분이 됩니다.

 

 스토리텔링 확장 공식: B-E-F-L

B (Background – 배경) 20~30초

where + when을 합쳐서 배경을 설명합니다.

“The place I’d like to talk about is Gyeongju, a historical city in southeastern Korea. I visited there about two years ago during the autumn season with a group of university friends. We decided to go there because we were studying Korean history at the time and wanted to see the ancient sites in person.”

 

E (Experience – 경험) 30~40초

what you did를 구체적인 에피소드로 확장합니다.

“We spent two full days exploring the city. The most memorable activity was visiting Bulguksa Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. I remember being amazed by the intricate stonework that had survived for over a thousand years. We also rented bicycles and rode around the royal tombs area, which was incredibly peaceful.”

 

F (Feeling – 감정) 20~30초

경험에 대한 감정과 감각을 묘사합니다.

“What struck me most was the sense of tranquility — it was completely different from the hectic pace of Seoul. I felt genuinely connected to history in a way that textbooks could never achieve. The autumn foliage surrounding the temples created an almost surreal atmosphere.”

 

L (Lesson/Link – 교훈/연결) 20~30초

explain why에 답하면서 교훈이나 미래 계획으로 마무리합니다.

“The reason this place impressed me so deeply is that it completely changed my perspective on Korean heritage. Before visiting, I thought of history as something boring from textbooks, but Gyeongju showed me that it’s alive and tangible. I’m actually planning to revisit next year, this time during cherry blossom season.”

 

이 B-E-F-L 구조를 따르면 약 1분 50초~2분 10초 분량이 자연스럽게 만들어집니다.

답변 2분 핵심 원칙:

  1. 메모해둔 키워드를 보면서 자연스럽게 문장으로 풀어 말하세요
  2. 말이 막히면 “What I mean is…”, “Actually, now that I think about it…” 같은 표현을 시작으로 흐름을 이어가세요
  3. Examiner가 “Thank you”라고 할 때까지는 끊지 말고 계속 말하는 게 중요합니다
